- Christmas at Tynte Lodge 7994Tynte Lodge No 7994 Christmas Party 2025Following a brief regular business meeting, Tynte Lodge members & visiting brethren retired to the dining room to join the wives, partners and friends for this year’s Tynte Lodge Christmas Party. The visiting brethren & partners came from the Lodge of Perpetual Friendship No135, Admiral Blake Lodge No4692 and St Cecilia Lodge No9341.
A traditional three course roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings was served and enjoyed by everyone. All provided by our regular and local caterer, Martin Felstead (Greenway Farm). A huge thank you to him and his team.
Another enjoyable tradition for Tynte lodge is the singing of the ‘twelve days of Christmas’ led by our hard-working Charity Steward, Tony Saunter.
This being the last Christmas party for Peter James WM Tynte Lodge, he brought along ‘Mason’ the giant teddy bear to be auctioned for charity, which was quickly snapped up by Colin Martin, visiting from St Cecilia Lodge No 9341 for £100 – many thanks go to Colin for this generous sum.________________________________________________________________________ - Gift from Tynte Lodge 7994
A thoughtful gift from Tynte Lodge
When Alan heard that his friend’s 15-year-old daughter had been diagnosed with Thyroid cancer and would need to spend three weeks isolated in the Royal Marsden Hospital for radiotherapy treatment, he thought she would need something to entertain herself, keep in touch with friends & family and to continue with her studies. An iPad would be the perfect solution. This then prompted a quick request on the Tynte Lodge WhatsApp group which received a positive response and donation of £150 was forthcoming to cover the cost of the iPad.
Alan said ‘After a recent stay in hospital myself the biggest thing was conquering boredom! I got an iPad to assist with this’. Beatrice lost her Mum to cancer a few years ago and I knew this would be a very difficult time for her – she is not allowed visits from loved ones, and the nurses will only enter her room dressed in a lead apron’.Her Dad, Ian Bailey, said ‘I was very touched by the generosity of the Bridgwater Freemasons who quickly purchased the iPad for Beatrice so she can get it loaded up before she goes to hospital’.Beatrice plans to write a thankyou letter when she has got the hang of the new device and said ‘Many thanks to the Freemasons for the thoughtful gift’Article and images provided by Alan Chambers Tynte Lodge - Defibrillator Machine at Northgate Bridgwater

- Charity Donation to St Margarets Somerset Hospice
Tynte Lodge, donate to St Margarets Somerset Hospice
23rd March 2022
Members of the Tynte Lodge in Bridgwater recently donated the magnificent sum of £600 to assist St Margarets Somerset Hospice,
with their efforts to recover from lost funding during the Covid Lockdown.
The Hospice were forced to close many of their retail outlets due to Covid, and consequently their income was seriously affected.
Members of Tynte Lodge heard about the problem and visited the Hospice Retail and Logistics Centre
where they donated the entire proceeds of a recent dinner to celebrate
Burns Night.
During the visit,
they learned that St Margarets are very keen to hear from anyone who might have large items of furniture etc.
that can be donated to help with fundraising. Pick-up can be arranged by calling St Margarets on 01823 218313.
